Question |
|
I live in zone 7 near Raleigh NC. I think I want to grow a plumeria in a large container. I saw one on-line that was so pretty. I love fragrant flowers. I know nothing of plumeria's but I'm good with plants. In the winter I will take put it in a small heated greenhouse which does not get below 65 degrees. Here are my questions: How big do they get both height and width? Can I let it go dormant in the winter? Which ones are the most fragrant? What is a good website to look at pictures of plumeria's to get an idea of what I want? I check my library and I did not see any books. Any additional information and links would be great. Thanks, Janet |

We have people growing Plumerias all over the world and you should be able to grow them with out any problems. They will grow into small trees but they can be cut and trimed to keep them managable. They will go Dorment in the winter and you can keep them in your greenhouse and if you keep light on it you may get it to bloom even in the winter. As for pictures you can look at our web site www.theplumeriasociety.org and click on the plumeria picture on the left side of the page. You can also look at our care sheet on the website |
